The Great White-Tail Deer Hunter
My oldest son Ryan bagged his first deer today on my property. His brother and I helped track it. At the point where he shot it, there was a small tuft of fur so he knew he'd hit it. I found a couple more tufts of hair but no blood trail. I followed a couple of tracks that were leading from the blueberry field to the back woods. I came upon a deer run in the woods and decided to follow it. I found the blood trail and then a large spot where it appeared to have laid down and called to the boys who were still in the blueberry field. We spread out to track it but no luck and no more blood. As we were heading back to the blood, Kyle found the doe only 10 feet from him. Their dad came over and helped field dress it. We are so happy for Ryan!! Whoo-hooooo! It was such a joy to share your success with you, hon! Congratulations, Ryan! Love you!!!

Pumpkin Glitter Charm
Today we finally went to get our pumpkins. It was a cold day with a mixture of rain and snow. Not the best day to be out in a pumpkin patch!! The pumpkins are still too cold to carve (I don't want to freeze my hands), so we will carve Jack and Jill tomorrow. Sunday's Devotional and Freebie
I love Devotional books!! I have quite a collection of them. While reading my current devotional book, the quote below gave me reason to pause...
"Many of us cannot grasp the truth that the time allotted to us on this earth is sufficient for all the Lord has planned for us to do. We don't need one minute more or one minute less to get the job done; the job of living."

My mom's friend lost her husband last week, and one of my old schoolmates recently passed away as well. Though both Roger and Ed could be considered young with many years ahead of them, their time of living was done. They had fulfilled the jobs the Lord had given them to do within their allotment of time.
But frankly, many of us feel that we never seem to have enough time to get things done. Do you feel the same way most days? As we grow older, time seems to go faster; yet we still have the same 24 hours in a day. Now days people buy the latest and greatest gadgets hoping to shave some spare time so they can have time to do something else. Unfortunately, we cannot save time in a bottle and use it another day. All we have is this day. And this is the day which the Lord has made; so let us rejoice and be glad in it!
The Lord tells us in Ecclesiastes that there is a time for everything. A time to be born and a time to die. In between our birth and dying, He gives all of us the exact amount of time required to get our job of living done, to complete His plans for us. I believe that what we do with our time is our gift back to Him. Fortunately, He makes our job easier by giving us plenty of instructions through His Word on how to spend our time.
Why not take a little extra time today to do something nice for someone? In celebration of this season/time in our lives, today's Freebie is a bag topper with Ecclesiastes 3:1 on the back. I've done the work for you to save you some time. :) It fits a 3-inch wide zip-lock baggie (you can find them at Hobby Lobby). Click on the image and in the new window save it to your hard drive. Print the image at 340x643 ppi, 100 resolution. I put candy corn and peanuts in the bag...tastes like a PayDay candy bar. YUM! Now give it away to someone. All it takes is a little time to bring someone a smile and get your job of living done for today. :)
