Rick Warren, the author of The Purpose Driven Life, has a new book out, The Purpose of Christmas, New York, Howard Books, 2008. It's a quick read with profound truths. I recommend it as a gift of love to those who are new to the faith, those who struggle during the holidays, those who need a gentle yet powerful reminder that Jesus is the Reason for the Season or those who desire a deeper understanding of what Christmas is all about. In it he describes the purpose of Christmas as a time for celebration, for salvation and a time for reconciliation.
